Flying to Dubai is quite simple: numerous European and Middle Eastern airlines have it among their destinations, albeit most with stopovers.
Almost all airlines land at Dubai International Airport, located in the district of Deira and well connected to the rest of the city by metro, while the recent opening to passenger traffic of Dubai World Center Airport, far from the centre and poorly connected by public transport, has meant that some companies are starting to move there.
Expected to become fully operational within the next 10 years, the situation is in flux, but one thing is already certain: low-cost airlines Wizz Air and Flydubai have made Dubai World Center airport their new home.

If you are prepared to make a stopover, clearly the possibilities for reaching Dubai become exponential. Flying with a stopover you can choose from virtually all the world’s best airlines, among which we recommend:
Qatar Airways is one of the world’s best airlines, flying to Dubai via Doha.
Turkey’s national airline connects Dubai via a stopover at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
Lufthansa, the German national airline, flies to Dubai International Airport with stopovers in Munich and Frankfurt.
Air France, the French national airline, operates the route from Paris to Dubai via a stopover at the gigantic Charles de Gaulle airport.
Britain’s national airline flies to Dubai via London Heathrow.
The Dutch flag carrier, partner of AirFrance, flies to Dubai with stopovers in Amsterdam Schipol.
Swiss, the Swiss national airline, flies to Dubai with a stopover in Zurich.
Thanks to Wizz Air, there is one more option for low-cost flights to Dubai. Since the end of 2013, the Hungarian low-cost airline has been connecting Europe with Dubai at often derisory prices.
Flights depart from Bucharest, Budapest, Sofia and Cluj Napoca, but to reach them it is possible to take other flights operated by Wizz Air itself or by other low-cost airlines. Flights to Bucharest or Budapest often cost very little, thus offering a customised itinerary to reach Dubai at truly unthinkable costs.
In this case, however, it should be pointed out that connections are not guaranteed since the flights to Wizz Air’s departure cities and those to Dubai are separate bookings, with no guarantee of protection in the event of delays or cancellations and with no possibility of sending the suitcase to the final destination. Sufficient time between flights will be sufficient to avoid most inconveniences.
City Card allow you to save on public transport and / or on the entrances to the main tourist attractions.
